Tubing at Soldier Hollow

Saturday night a group of friends from our ward went snow tubing together at Soldier Hollow. They have a lift up the hill that pulls your tube up to the top. It is pretty long. It takes about 5 min. to get to the top. Then they have about 6 lanes you can go down alone or in a group. That is me in the lift in the picture above.
This is part of our group afterward going out for ice cream and french fries at Dairy Keen.
This was our group trying to all go down together. You have to hold on to each other's tube to stay connected. In this picture: Steven Kerr, Heather English, Kristin Kerr, Monte Rock, John Roach, Tracie Rock, Crystal Roach, Marci Farr, and Paul Farr.
This was at the bottom after going down as a group. It was a blast the whole night. We did get a little wet, but kept warm in all our garb.

Warning: Not for the faint of heart!

So, Saturday was Jeremy's birthday and so we went out on a date and got a babysitter. Right when we got home, the babysitter was noticeably panicked and said she had to show me something. Lyndie's head was covered in blood all down the back of her shirt. I was amazingly calm and went on auto-pilot. I took Lyndie upstairs to give her a bath and wash her hair so I could see just how bad the cut was. After I was done, I saw that it was still bleeding and knew that meant she needed to see a doctor. I ran her to the insta-care and they put a numbing gel on her head for 30 min. while she watched Toy Story 2 and then put 3 staples in her head. There is no dressing and we could wash her hair in 24 hours, so that has been nice. Lyndie didn't cry at all which I believe was maybe a state of shock and maybe her body was trying to protect her from the pain.

How did this happen you ask? Well, her loving brother Logan pushed her and she hit her head on the edge his bedroom door. Logan was totally freaked out that night and was crying and putting his PJ's on when we got home. Mallory cried hysterically for about 2 hours after it happened because she thought when she saw all the blood that Lyndie was dying.  So basically, all of the innocent bystanders were much more traumatized than Lyndie was by the whole thing.

The irony to this night, was that on my birthday back in May, we couldn't go out because Lyndie was throwing up and now on Jeremy's birthday she had to go to the insta-care. I think we will stay home for our birthdays from now on.:)

Anyway her are the pictures of her staples right when we got home.

The New Champion of the Wii!

If you look closely, you will see that Logan and Jeremy dueled it out on a game of bowling on the Wii. And Daddy got beat HARD! By a 4 year old. He did this completely unassisted and even stradegized about how to roll the ball and where, etc. The final score as you can see was Logan: 179  Dad: 158
This is Logan's victory stance. Showing off his bowling muscles! As Logan said "I ROCK!"

New Years in St. George

We decided to go visit my sister, Karen, and her husband, Lance, in St. George over New Years. Our plan was to avoid cold weather and visit with family: Mission Accomplished! My mom also came up from Las Vegas while we were there and Karen and Lance live with Lance's mom, two dogs, and a cat. It was a full house and lots of fun for everyone.
Lyndie found these dancing snowmen on the dining room table and did those over and over and over. We let her do it, because it was about the only thing that made her happy. She came down with a bad fever the first night we were there and it stayed the whole rest of the time.
For some reason, Jeremy was tired after we got there and fell asleep on the couch.(notice that everything in this house is white or made of glass.) I did panic when I walked in with three kids: 6,4, and 2, but they didn't break anything! I am so proud!
Logan and Mallory found a basket of ornaments and decorated a tree that desperately needed it. Grandma Marilyn, Lance's mom, was so pleased that they did this. And Mallory and Logan were very proud of their creation.
This is Grandma Marilyn, Mallory, Logan and Kayla the dog. They have another dog that had to be kept away due to nervousness around the kids. Mallory especially loves animals and LOVED Kayla very much!
Mallory and Kayla. I guess you can say they are cousins?
Mallory had a lot of fun playing the Wii with Uncle Lance. She is pretty good too.
Boys always find something to do don't they?
Even Grandma Helen got in on the Wii action. (Again notice the white chairs, white floors and glass table):) YIKES!

It was a very fun trip and nice to just get away from normal life. We were able to go outside each day with no jacket and run around on the tennis courts in the sun! It was great! I have come to realize how much I love the sun and need more of it. So, we will definitely be going back this spring to swim when it's still freezing where we are.
